Forget Me Not

I want to be remembered.

I don't want to be just another face in the crowd,

I want to invoke feeling in people,
make them cry and laugh and smile,
help them feel happy when everything is wrong.

I want to change the world however I can,
make it a better place worthy of being inhabited,
help people realize that life is beautiful and good.

I want to be unfaltering smiles, and leaping fires,
and unwavering courage, and the driving force,
and the heartbeat in everyone's chest.

I don't want to be gone before you know it.
I want to be a constant presence in someone's mind.

I don't want to be a single, solitary star.
I want to be someone's whole sky.
